Garcinia Indica, also known as Kokum or Bhirand, is a tree native to India. Its edible fruit, often referred to as Red Mango (despite not being a Mango), is utilized as a seasoning in various dishes. The plant serves multiple purposes, with the rind providing dyes and preservatives, while the seeds produce oil used in lip balm and other applications.

Traditionally, Kokum exists in a firm butter form, but contemporary variations offer softer alternatives, enhancing its versatility in diverse applications. Our usual Kokum butter source exhibits a consistency akin to shea butter, making it an ideal ingredient in cosmetic formulations. When incorporated with other components, it becomes more pliable, facilitating the development of exotic body care products.

Disclaimer: Kokum Butter is a completely natural ingredient, which means its scent can vary slightly from batch to batch and from year to year. Even though it goes through a refining process, it’s not possible for every batch to smell exactly the same.
