Wooden Wicks 127mm Length
Wooden wicks are an innovative alternative to traditional cotton wicks.
Not only do wood wicks burn cleanly and disperse fragrance excellently, but they also generate subtle crackle sounds, creating a captivating acoustic ambience.
The soothing crackling sounds of wood wicks bring a whole new sensory delight to your candles!
Please note this listing is for the Wooden Wicks only. Wooden Wick Sustainers can be purchased separately here.
Our wood wicks are made from Maple.
As there are only limited sizes, it can be more difficult to correctly wick your candle. If your wood wick is over wicked, you can alter the size by cutting a thin strip down the edge to reduce flame size. If it is under wicked, you can double up the wicks in the configurations shown below.
If your wick extinguishes during burning it is likely the blend is not right for the wick, and you may have to reduce the amount of fragrance.
Alternatively, you can alter the wax composition, you can increase viscosity by adding a small amount of beeswax which will excel the capillary action and help the burn quality.
The wick should always be trimmed so that 5 mm or less is above the wax before lighting for the first time. Failure to do so can result in poor performance and wick extinguishing during the burn.
Experimentation is key!
